The Legacy at Hastings is the new name here but the conditions are still Country Club quality. The new scorecard has four (4) new yardages from Blacks at 6,423/71.4/128 down to Reds at 4,600/67.1/113 on this hilly Par 36/37 layout. With the clubhouse located on the highest point you’ll have a great view of this vast rolling layout. I decided to walk and play the Blacks for $25....a choice I would later regret. The most wide open holes are #1 393yd Par 4 and the return #2 477yd Par 5, so enjoy. The #3 is a straight away 354yd Par 4 with two (2) huge mounds at 150yds blocking view of green. Number 4 is a steep downhill 171yd shot to a nice large and soft green. The #5 a 392yd Par 4 has a narrow tree chute shot to a soft fairway leading to a raised green. The #6 is a 456yd Par 5 Hcp 2 dogleg left with a blind tee landing area. If you hit the top of the hill by the Red tee box (200yd) you’ll roll down to 210yd marker, with a 20’ raised green awaiting your arrival. The #7 301yd straight away Par 4 with good landing area to hit your approach shot to the large green. Number 8 an 222yd downhill Par 3 has a trees/swamp located on the LH side so miss short front. The #9 a straight away 337yd Par 4 that starts out elevated, down to fairway and back up to a elevated green. The Back 9 #10 458yd Par 4 is same layout as #9, but longer for its Hcp 1 ranking. The straight away #11 a 528yd Par 5 has a steep raised front protecting the green against those under club shots. The #12 a 385yd Par 4 has a 20’ raised green location with no view of depth from fairway. The Par 3 at #13 has you hitting downhill 138yds with LH side protected by a swamp. After a steep climb to #14 tee box a 338yd Par 4 that had a downhill shot to a pond 230yds away, with a flat area leaving 150yd shot. The #15 has a large hill that needs 200yd carry to top flat area on this 396yd Par 4. The #16 423yd Par 4 is a Hcp 3 ranking and has a big hill 50yds from green leading up to the raised green. The #17 a 474yd straight away Par 5 leaves your 3rd shot to a steep faced raised green that rejects short shots. Saving the best for last is #18 a 180yd uphill 80’ to a blind green that has you putting your best guess forward on club selection. To say this is a hilly course is a understatement as I walked 7.3 miles/18,371steps/34 floors on this April sunny day. Ended up shooting 40/40 w/32putts and will take a cart next time.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Ranks with the best in this price level, Best course in the area
